Upcoming Event

A Virtual Directed Retreat sponsored by the Archdiocese of New Orleans
When: Thursday, July 16 - August 30
(3, 5 or 8 day retreat)

Would you like to experience a directed retreat without interrupting your daily life?
Are you seeking a deeper relationship with the Lord through prayer?
Would you like to experience Sacred Scripture—not just study it?
Do you have a deep desire to grow in your faith and prayer life?

We are all experiencing the new normal created by Covid 19. This includes our spiritual life.  We are thankful for the gift of technology, which allows us to offer this retreat during a time when we are searching and maybe wondering, “Where is God in all this chaos?”
Each retreatant will meet daily (virtually) with a spiritual director and be given scripture to pray with. Through scripture and reflection under the daily guidance of the Spiritual Director, the retreatant will become more aware of God’s presence and action in their life.
Cost: $20/day

Vatican releases Free Online Prayer Book amid Pandemic

The book, which is called “Strong in the Face of Tribulation: The Church in Communion – a Sure Support in Time of Trial” and has an image of the Archangel Michael on its cover, is divided into three parts.

The first part contains prayers, rituals and supplications, including prayers for the sick and for liberation from evil. The second explains how Catholics can continue to practice the faith without the support of the Sacraments. The third section gathers together Pope Francis’ reflections since the pandemic struck.

Prayer for Someone with Coronovirus

Merciful God, hear our fervent prayer for all who suffer from the coronavirus.
May those who are infected receive the proper treatment
and the comfort of your healing presence.
May their caregivers, families and neighbors be shielded
from the onslaught of the virus.
Give solace to those who grieve the loss of loved ones.
Protect and guide those who strive to find a cure,
that their work may conquer the disease and restore communities to wholeness and health.
Help us to rise above fear. We ask all this through the intercession of Our Lady of Lourdes,
and in the name of your Son, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit, now and forever.
